Project Overview

This skid-mounted system combines ultrafiltration (UF) and reverse osmosis (RO) for wastewater reuse applications. The equipment package brings together membrane modules, pressure vessels, pumps and connecting pipework in a modular arrangement.

The photographs show the assembled equipment in the workshop and the membrane skids loaded for transport, providing a reference for the system layout and equipment configuration.

Two Membrane Stages, Different Treatment Roles

Ultrafiltration removes suspended particles and colloidal material, helping prepare the water for downstream RO treatment. Reverse osmosis then reduces dissolved salts and other constituents rejected by the selected RO membranes.

This combined treatment approach supports water reclamation where particle removal alone is insufficient to meet the intended reuse requirements. Feed-water quality, upstream treatment and the required product-water quality determine the appropriate membrane selection and operating conditions.

For feed-water review and the role of ultrafiltration before reverse osmosis, see the RO pretreatment selection page.

Modular Equipment Configuration

The system features vertically arranged UF modules and horizontally mounted RO pressure vessels on supporting frames. Pumps, valves, pipework and local instruments are arranged around the membrane equipment.

The skid-mounted layout allows the UF and RO sections to be reviewed as separate treatment stages while planning their integration with the wider water treatment process. Installation space, access for maintenance, cleaning requirements and concentrate handling should be considered during project design.
